In 2016 SCM Law were instructed to act for a client serving a life sentence following his prior conviction for offences of a serious sexual nature again children.
Operation Blue Capri focused on new allegations brought to the attention of South Wales Police as a result of our client having created a manuscript detailing his serious abuse of young children that contained unimaginable and horrific detail.
South Wales Police formed Operation Blue Capri to investigate the crimes dating back between 2004 and 2008.
The police investigation and subsequent prosecution of our client led to his conviction for multiple offences of a sexual nature against children including rape. He was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court in May 2017 to life imprisonment with a specified minimum term to be served.
Despite the appalling nature of the offending that had taken place it was our duty to act in the best interests of our client. This included the forensic examination of the evidence, advice on plea and preparation for a complex sentencing exercise where the court was giving consideration to imposing a whole life term.
